What is a Smudge Pot?

Originally farmers used Smudge Pots and Orchard Heaters in the early 1900's and for decades after that to keep their fruit crops from freezing. They were set out in the orchards of southern California, Florida and vineyards in Europe, by the hundreds in some cases.

Now we've adapted them with custom cut designs to use for campfires. Take a look through our designs to pick from or contact us about a custom design for yourself, business or club.

Smudge Pots burn kerosene, diesel and used oil. The fuel must not contain any other containments such as water, coolant, brake cleaner etc. otherwise it can create a dangerous boil over situation. Always know your fuel source.
